It was expected: Always at Huawei, here is another smartphone already announced that it hopes to close early in the year ahead. During the presentation of Mate S , semi-ratage Chinese brand (see our review), Huawei had also mentioned a smartphone version with a Touch screen Force. And here he comes just to entering the sales portal Vmall , is the official store of the brand. The unit now takes the name of Huawei Mate S Touch Press, is available in gold and has 128 GB of storage space.
Compared to conventional S Mate, Mate S Press Touch does not change the reality that few things. It runs Android 5.1 also with Emotion UI 3.1, features a Kirin 935 (a bit overwhelmed for a premium smartphone) combined with 3GB of RAM, and displays the full HD on an AMOLED display of 5.5 inches. What changes here is the use of a screen Force Touch, Touch Press renamed for the occasion, and which can support more or less strong to zoom in the image. Price of the device, which is just beginning to be delivered: 799 euros anyway, against 649 euros for the standard Mate S to its output (and a few euros less to this day).
What happened: All this was before the introduction of Mate and 8 debut, obviously satisfactory for Huawei. So the brand, which does not seem quite wowed crowds with his Mate S (which had disappointed us during his test ) and probably afraid to fail with a more expensive Mate S, leave the matter in abeyance. We bet that eventually will never be commercialized.
